You may be surprised to discover how many traffic-free cycling routes there are to explore around Grand Union Village. As well as the Grand Union canal towpath, there are some great cycling routes in and around Ealing and Hillingdon - pick up a cycle map from the Community Centre or Trinity Estates office. The green open spaces and traffic-free paths near the Village are not just great for leisure cycling, they also offer pleasant routes to work, local shops, facilities and stations.

Cycling to local Tube and train stations
It’s quicker to cycle to local train and Tube stations than to catch the bus or drive and your journey time is guaranteed to be the same every day.

Parking your bike at the station
There are cycle racks at Greenford and Northolt stations. At Southall, you can lock your bike to the railings outside the station.

Taking your bike on the train
Folding bikes are permitted at all times on the train or tube.

You can take your bike on the Central line between West Ruislip and White City at the weekend and Monday to Friday until 7:30 then 09:30 - 16:00 and after 19:00.

You can take your bike on overground trains from Greenford and Southall off peak and at weekends. Monday to Friday, bikes are not allowed on trains that arrive at London Paddington between 07:45 and 09:45, or which depart from Paddington between 16:30 and 18:30.

Free Cycle training
If you are over 16 and would like to gain confidence to cycle on the road, or you have not cycled in a while, Ealing and Hillingdon Councils both offer free cycle training.
