Third Annual Street party/Village Fair 2007

Was held on Saturday 21st July between 12noon - 4pm.  We had a lot of helpers; a good few from the GUV Youth who were very willing!

This was the third year that the CDT organised a Summer event and it included

  • Crazy Karts
  • Drumming Workshops
  • Sports machine laser shoot
  • BBQ
  • Licensed bar
  • Safer Neighbourhood Police
  • Inflatables
  • Circus Skills/ Balloon modelling
  • Face painting
  • Plant stall

We had a brilliant line-dancing demonstration from the Dancing Cowboys and many more activities plus a show from our very own Freestlye Academy based here on the Village.

Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us for a part of the event but most peoples spirits were not dampened and a good afternoon was had by all.

If you would like to volunteer your services for the next event contact the CDT office!

Christmas Shopping Trip to France on Saturday 2nd December!

The group met outside Costcutters and we set off at approximately 7.00am for Dover. The coach was well equipped and had a DVD player so I thought Pirates of the Caribbean was quite appropriate! We arrived at Dover in time for our ferry and arrived at Cite Europe in France by lunchtime.

After 6 hours of shopping and lots of bargains later it was time to head back to the ferry terminal for the return journey home and a last attempt to get some Duty Free items.

The film on the way home was Men In Black II which was missed by quite a few sleepy passengers and we arrived back on the GUV at 11.15pm.

We are hoping to run another trip near to Easter and will be advertising next month on the village.

Cite Europe in Calais        The Genesis Crew          Ah bless!
